Here are our top tips for making sure that My Haire stays as strong and healthy as your own hair. To keep your extensions looking flawless from install to uninstall, here’s everything you need to know—from the moment you receive your order to everyday care and styling.

I Just Received My Haire- Whats Next?

Gently inspect your extensions right out of the package.

Please do not untag, wash, alter, or install the hair if you plan to request an exchange.

Before styling:

  • Soak your Curly, Coily or Kinky Haire extensions in water to help separate strands.
  • Wash gently using a sulfate-free shampoo, then let air dry.
  • For Straight Haire, you may use a dryer with a comb attachment.

Daily Care

  • Brush gently using My Haire Detangler brush made specially for extensions, starting from the ends and working your way up
  • Keep tangles at bay by tying your hair up in a ponytail when sleeping or working out
  • Avoid heavy oils or butters, especially at the roots

Shampooing

Always brush out knots first using a wide-tooth comb or loop brush.

Wash 2–3 wefts at a time to avoid tangling.

For clip-ins, close all clips before washing.

Use sulfate-free shampoo and cleanse in a downward motion—never rub or scrub.

Apply a moisturizing conditioner to the mid-lengths and ends only.

Let conditioner sit for 5–10 minutes (15–20 minutes with heat for color-treated hair), then rinse thoroughly with cool water to seal the cuticle.

  • Gently blot with a towel—no wringing.
  • Air dry flat or hanging when possible.
  • If using a hair dryer, be sure to use a diffuser. Apply a heat protectant first and use a low to medium heat setting from root to tip

  • Always make sure extensions are dry before going to bed
  • Protect your extensions by using a silk to satin pillowcase, or wrap your hair in a silk scarf or bonnet to reduce friction and tangling
  • Detangle before bed to keep your style fresh.

Coloring

  • Yes, My Haire extensions can be dyed—but we always recommend letting a pro handle it.
  • If DIY, test a strand first and opt for darker shades to preserve quality.

Storage

  • When not in use, store your extensions in the My Haire satin lined storage bag to keep them moisturized and tangle-free between installs.
